Nonprofits serving Shawnee & Jefferson counties wanting to apply for a 2-year UWKV Community Investment grant should attend an in-person information meeting at 10am Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at the Shawnee Co. Health Dept, 2600 SW East Circle Drive, Topeka, KS.
The application process is open to eligible charitable organizations as designated by IRS code 170 providing services in Shawnee and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Areas of grant investment include Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Healthy Communities. Funding begins July 1, 2025.
The timetable for the grant application process is as follows:
February 14
Letter of Intent Opens; NOFO Release and Information Meeting
March 14
Proposals Due at 5:00 pm CST
March-April
Grant Review and Scoring
April 25
Applicants Notified of Investment Decisions
July 1
Grant Term Begins
More details will be available in the NOFO document and at the February 14 meeting. UWKV will provide technical assistance as needed, including scheduled office hours during the proposal-writing window.
*United Way of Kaw Valley recently changed the terminology for its grant application process from Request for Proposal (RFP) to Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The process remains the same, with interested organizations writing proposals for funding in the available areas.
